Well time for me to round out these lists based on how long a song charted here in Australia, although I'll be using the physical charts from 2006 onwards given how entries from that year onward lasted indefinitely on the charts. That said ARIA reduced their physical charts to a top fifty in mid-2009, meaning entries from 2009 will be lower on here than they probably deserve to be (bearing in mind that David Kent only produced a top twenty chart for his books following the discontinuation of the AMR charts in 1999.) If I didn’t do this, then the top half of this list would be dominated with entries from 2006 onwards which I feel isn’t fair for the first half of the decade.
There weren't many popular British girl groups who managed to find international success outside of their homeland throughout the 00's, one of the lucky few was Girl thing who was able to translate the success of their one and only UK hit over here to Australia albeit as a sleeper hit at the start of the 00's. Naturally they went their separate ways when they failed to score a second hit in either country.
Robbie was on a roll when he released the second single from his album Intensive care given how this is another single that only barely failed to appear on one of my lists due to it being more of a sleeper hit for the British singer/songwriter here in Australia than a mainstream success. It would be all downhill from here for him as his next album would see him embarking with hip hop.

I don't remember this track at all from back in the day, apparently this comes from a British artist who was active here in Australia which would explain why it was a modest success here and nowhere else in the world.
One more song to feature on this list that I vividly remember from back in the day, although considering this was the song that finally got Thirsty Merc's album off the ground here, I guess it makes sense it was only a sleeper hit given how we Aussies likely would've passed up this radio favourite in favour of making the album a huge success for the band.
I wasn't expecting to feature the sixth single from the Pussycat dolls on this site given how it was barely a sleeper hit for the quintet back in the day, I guess having Timbaland provide a guest verse was what allowed this to become a hit for the girls even though the album was a proven success by the time it hit the store shelves.
Well, this is definitely a song whose absence on this site has been felt up until now, it gives me great pleasure that I can finally feature the debut single from the Killers on this list given how I remember this being completely inescapable back in the day despite its failure to compete with the Australian idol phenomenon here in Australia. This also barely failed to appear on the NZ side of my site, proving it was in fact overlooked back in the day.
This is the only success that Australian pop diva Cassie Davis achieved, although she wasn't really a pop diva as that term is generally reserved for the biggest female pop stars such as Madonna and Kylie Minogue which she certainly wasn't in the realms of.
This was more of a sleeper hit here in Australia as opposed to being a genuine hit in America for Nickelback, admittedly the fact this was a hit at all was impressive given how it was released a year after the album came out, however it appears we Aussies were intrigued with the message of the song to make it a success.
This was sandwiched between the two big hits off of Maroon 5's second album It won't be soon before long, I guess this means we Aussies weren't that impressed with this track from the band and only kept it around out of obligation rather than having any genuine affection for it.
You better believe that the Ali G character created by Sacha Baron Cohen was a cultural phenomenon back in the day, here he is with Shaggy scoring a sleeper hit here in Australia with this novelty track about how awesome it is to be the viral sensation. Of course, nowadays Sacha is best known for his character Borat who would prove to be a massive box office success in his self-titled mockumentary from 2006.
This is another song I'm convinced was harmed by illegal downloads as I have way more memories of this on the radio than many of the songs that made my official year end lists. Even so, this was a massive sleeper hit here in Australia for Basement Jaxx thanks to the vocals of Lisa Kekaula who saw some much-needed success due to the failure of her band the Bellrays.
Whereas "Snow" was the big hit from Stadium arcadium throughout the rest of the world, we Aussies passed up on that track likely due to this second single from the album already being a decent success for the band by the time it saw the light of day. These two songs are the last in RHCP's cataloguer to find any success throughout the world as their 2010's material would all flop.
It turns out this lasted for quite some time on our charts despite it not being much of a hit for Chamillionaire (I can't even with that name) so much so that it earns itself a spot on this list even though I doubt many Aussies remember this being a hit here back in the day. Naturally this was the best the rapper can do given how he's a one hit wonder even in his own homeland.

This came close to making my digital list of the 00's, it didn't because it was too much of a sleeper hit to qualify for that list. This goes to show how close this was to making Kisschasy as big as the likes of Thirsty merc and Evermore given how this became a success around the time those two bands made it big.

Even though he didn't win in his season of Popstars Australia, that didn't prevent Selwyn from finding success with his debut single back in the day albeit as a sleeper hit given how this really struggled to crack our top twenty upon its initial release. In all honesty, I'm surprised that "Way loves supposed to be" wasn't his magnum opus here as that felt like his signature track back in the day.

This is the only other hit that Mis teeq had here in Australia and indeed outside of their native UK as for whatever reason, they couldn't compete with the likes of Atomic kitten or the Sugababes when it came to British girl groups of the 00's internationally. At least they managed to rack up the hits in their native UK before they went their separate ways in the midpoint of the 00's.
I debated on if I could include both of these songs on this list as technically, they were separate chart entries even if the former was deleted from the chart the week the latter was released, in the end I've decided to allow them on here since ARIA insists on counting this as a two for one deal even if that wasn't the case originally. In any case, the former is the song which helped Michael's self-titled album finally take off here in Australia given how catchy it is even outside of the swing revival genre whilst the latter is a swing cover of the Spider man theme which was included in the Spiderman 2 soundtrack and was only a success here in Australia.

This is the final new entry on this list (at least on this side of my site) it was the first hit that Pharrell had as a lead vocalist here in Australia given how he had already made his mark on the chorus to Snoop Dogg's "Beautiful" the year prior to when this came out. It's another song that was pushed aside here in Australia for all the reality show contestant’s Australian idol launched into our music industry.
